The Seattle Examiner: Oprah Says Women Should Feel Free To Vote For Obama

Filed under: Current Events, Media, Politics, Public Debate — chr1 @ 10:26 am

Apparently, some people are having trouble choosing race over gender in the quest for the Democratic nomination.  Oprah’s on the case, where admittedly, she does pretty well.

Oprah should feel free in taking the risk of supporting Obama to deal with the political backlash that eventually may come; the risk of being wrong in a much more serious way than she’s used to…

“…she [Oprah] said, adding a little later, “I say, I am not a traitor. No, I’m not a traitor. I’m just following my own truth, and that truth has led me to Barack Obama.”‘

Folowing your truth isn’t probably the worst way to pick a candidate once you’re in the booth and you’ve done you’re homework; in my mind a much better way than needing Oprah to remind you of your freedoms to choose between race and gender months before the election.

Couldn’t we say that George Bush is still following his truth?
